Nongshim Spicy Yakisoba
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of the famous Nongshim Shin Ramyun, like so many other people around the world. It has become a staple for spice lovers and something that every other spicy instant noodle dish will be compared against for probably all time. That’s reason enough for me to also give the Nongshim Spicy Yakisoba a try, which immediately catches your eye on the shelf with the familiar 辛 sign.
So let’s see if this bowl of spicy yakisoba can live up to the soupy version.
Content
You will find a bunch of dried veggies and interestingly, some pieces of edible spicy 辛 signs. No idea what they are made of. Additionally you will find a sachet with spicy oil and a sachet with the soup powder.
Preparation
Take out all the sachets..
Fill bowl with water and wait for the described time.
Open the opposite side draining hole and drain the water carefully, without flushing out too many veggies.
Mix in the content from the 2 sachets and stir vigorously.
Review
After mixing all the sachet content with the still slightly moist noodles, a first hit of spiciness hits your nostrils. The promise of tasty and spicy noodles. And the promise of spiciness is definitely not broken. This cup of spicy yakisoba is nothing for wimps. You need some good spice tolerance to be able to enjoy this bowl. Unfortunately the bowl does not have more to offer than just harsh spiciness, which might be what you are looking for, but for me personally, it was too one note. It was a bit better when I added some kimchi to every bite, but I still had to force myself to finish the cup. The noodles are pretty good though, so there’s some points for that. I think this cup is an ok base, if you are planning to add further things like kimchi, other pickles, eggs or some meat components. But just by itself, I can only recommend to people who are searching for a good spice kick and not much more.
