Matsudo Tomita Menban / 松戸富田麺絆 - Tokyo Station
Matsudo Tomita Menban (in Google Maps as Matsudo Tomita Noodles Kizuna) in the KITTE shopping center next to Tokyo station is the easy access Tomita for everyone who doesn’t want to get up at 6am for ramen and doesn’t have half a day to spare. The KITTE shopping center is right next door to the Tokyo station building on the Marunouchi side, towards the emperor’s palace. The shop itself can be found in small ramen street on the B1F level. This space was created as direct competitor to the Tokyo Ramen Street on the underground level of Tokyo station. Although you will only find 4 shops here, the level of quality can easily compete with the Tokyo Ramen Street.
An interesting fact is that the shop is run only by women, serving the “classic” Tomita recipe bowl. I only had the “new” Tokyo X bowl at the Matsudo shop so far, but from what I can tell, this comes very close to the same quality in regards to the soup and noodles. The noodles are thick and firm, with a lovely wheat taste after some chewing. The soup is like a gravy with a good yuzu punch. Unfortunately the chashu is very much in “whatever” territory, the belly pieces were not good (pure fat, chewy not in a good way). The egg was good, but nothing noteworthy. I can recommend going just for their regular bowl without extra toppings. Then I would say it’s a must try for ramen heads without enough time to go to the main store in Matsudo.
